  In chemistry, the Alkaline Earth Elements (Alkaline Earth Metals) are a subgroup of metals belong to a series of chemical elements forming the Group 2 Elements (IUPAC style) in the the periodic table of elements.
  All alkaline earth elements have an oxidation number of +2, making them very reactive. All alkaline earth elements are naturally occurring, but because of their reactivity, the alkaline metals are not found free in nature.

Each Alkaline Earth Metal Element, named after it's naturally occurring oxide, whose alchemist names were once called: Beryllia, Magnesia, Lime, Strontia and Baryta.
